Our students would greatly benefit academically if you share information about your career journey and your vision for aerospace engineering. Below is a list of suggested questions that may be helpful to begin writing. Please include a short bio and a picture, emailed to Shelly Yee.

  • What is your educational background, and how did you decide to study engineering?
  • What was your first job in industry?
  • What is the most challenging part of your job?
  • Which person in the field has inspired you the most? In what ways?
  • Do you have any advice for students studying aerospace engineering?
  • What would you say have been the greatest advances of the last decade in aerospace engineering?
  • What is your vision of the future of aerospace engineering?
  • Are there any special projects that you are working on that you’d like to tell the students about?

Be a Guest Speaker

Present a special lecture at our Friday afternoon Aerospace Enterprise undergraduate seminar series or our Thursday Chair’s Distinguished Lecture graduate student series. Both courses have an average of 125 students enrolled. Contact Professor of Practice George Halow for the Aerospace Enterprise seminar. Alumni are always welcome back to campus to visit former faculty and staff or get a tour of our facilities. Prior to your arrival, please be sure to complete our tour request form.

Come Back for Homecoming

Michigan Engineering Homecoming Weekend is the perfect opportunity to come back to campus and reconnect with friends and former faculty. Interact with student teams, visit your department, attend the alumni board meeting and tailgate before the big game.


The mission of the Society is to use the talents and resources of the graduates of the Aerospace Department to provide opportunities for networking, mentoring, recruiting and communicating – all in the interest of contributing to the overall success, excellence and reputation of the Department.
