Congratulations U-M Aerospace Engineering PhD student Joshua Anibal on receiving a 2021 Outstanding GSI Award for his teaching in AEROSP 481 Aircraft Design.
University of Michigan Aerospace Engineering PhD student Joshua Anibal has been honored with the 2021 Rackham Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award for his excellence in teaching AE481 Aircraft Design.
The course guides students through the aircraft design process and teaches them how to integrate aerodynamics, performance, stability and control, propulsion, structures, and aeroelasticity using a systems approach. Josh has served as a GSI for the course under Professor Joaquim R. R. A. Martins for two semesters during which he has helped the students grasp the concepts of aircraft design.
In addition to his work as a GSI, Josh conducts research in the MDOlab under the advisorship of Professor Joaquim Martins where he works on applying gradient based optimization methods to aerodynamic and heat transfer problems. He is a 3rd year PhD student studying Aerospace Engineering and Scientific Computing. He received his Bachelor of Aerospace Engineering from the University of Michigan in 2018. Josh will be honored for his GSI Award at a virtual awards ceremony put on by the Rackham Graduate School on April 22nd.
