The University of Michigan offers an internationally-recognized undergraduate aerospace engineering program. Our undergraduate degree program is ranked fourth-highest in the country by U.S. News and World Report.

Students work together on an array of aerospace and other engineering projects. Undergraduate research is an important part of the Michigan experience. Students have opportunities to get involved in research within aerospace or elsewhere at the university.

TAILOR TO YOUR NEEDS

Students can tailor to their own interests by choosing electives from advanced aerospace courses, or from courses in a wide range of other technical areas, including: aerodynamics; helicopters; air vehicle systems; rocket and spacecraft propulsion; orbital dynamics and satellite control; materials and advanced composites; and computer and information systems for aerospace vehicles.

Students can also choose a combined degree program that offers them two bachelor’s degrees, with the second often being in a related field such as mechanical engineering.

LARGEST AEROSPACE ALUMNI BASE

We have the largest aerospace engineering alumni base in the United States. Being part of the Michigan Engineering community opens professional opportunities for our graduates. Many alumni return each year to speak with students and faculty, and both private sector and government organizations reach out frequently to recruit at Michigan – including multiple job fairs throughout the school year where students earn internships or job opportunities for after graduation.
